BACHMANN AMINADO NA HIWALAY DAPAT ANG PSC SA PHINADO

MARIING tinuran ni Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Richard Bachmann na payag siyang ihiwalay ang Philippine Anti-Doping Agency (Phinado) sa PSC para maiwasan ang sigalot pa sa hinaharap.

“Dapat lang talaga,” sabi ni Bachmann sa PSA Forum kahapon kasama si Executive Director Paolo Francisco Tatad at Nethan Vasquez na kumatawan kay Phinado head Dr. Alejandro Pineda.

“PSC is a government sports agency and Phinado is private agency under problem in the future,” paliwanag ni Bachmann .

Kinasuhan ng WADA ang PSC ng ‘non-compliance’at dinala sa Court of Arbitration in Sports (CAS) nakabase sa Lausanne, Switzerland para sa pinal na desisyon.

“We are working with Malacanang with the legislative requirements of WADA. The help of Malacanang is greatly appreciated,” ani pa Bachmann .

Darating sa bansa ang mga kinatawan ng WADA sa susunod na buwan at makikipagpulong kay Bachmann.

Magugunitang dinala ang kaso ng PATAFA na pinamumunuan ni dating PSC Chairman Philip E. Juico at Ernest John Obiena noong panahon ni Chairman William Ramirez.

“We have to work on that,” wika ni Bachman “I was not chairman of PSC when Phinado aligned with the government sports agency,Right now, we’ re waiting for the decision of CAS. Kayang malutas ang kaso in due time,” pagsisguro ng 51 years old PSC chief.

“There are other countries also experienced this problem. The case is now handled by lawyers familiar with the case. Antay kami sa Wada general meeting sa March 11,”

Ang WADA meeting gagawin sa kanilang headquarters sa Swiss Tech Convention Center sa Lausanne, Switzerland.

Nang tanungin si Vasquez tungkol sa mga capsules ginagamit ng mga athletes prescribed ng kanilang mga doctors, “they should inform Phinado so that they can get advice and avoid problem,”

Kalahati sa budget ng WADA galing sa International Olympic Committee at ang kalahati ay galing sa mga ahensiya ng national government.

Ang Wada ay pinamunuan ni Witold Banka ng Poland.

Tungkol naman sa professional boxers, sinabi ni Nethan Vasquez na walang hurisdiksyon ang Wada.

“The jurisdiction of WADA is amateur sports,” wika ni Vasquez.
