CARLOS Yulo, the “little big man” or shall I say “The Great”. Yes indeed he’s truly the greatest.

Since his historic double gold medal performance for the country during the 2024 Paris Olympics, he had done it again. This time flashing his awesome talent in the ongoing 2025 Asian Artistic Senior Gymnastic Championship in Jaechon, South Korea.

Once more, the diminutive Yulo ruled his favourite floor exercise event with his flawless and sleek agility in convincing the judges to a near perfect score of 14.0 en route to his-fourth personal gold medal triumph.

Prior to his gold medal win, though Yulo showed some sign of rustiness onset of the competition, had already earned him a bronze and silver in the un even bar and the all around exercises, respectively.

Likewise making the five-foot, one gymnast as the events most be-medaled athlete. Perviously, Yulo have made the country proud when capped gild medals in the 2023 Asian Games in Hougzhou, China.

With these triumph by the “boy wonder” from Leveriza, Manila will surely earned him a spot, or make him cinch in the national team already on deep training for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

In other fronts, at the start of 2025. I came cross a vlog by a re known fortune teller, who had predicted, Filipino athletes will continue to flourish and dominate the international scenes this year.

At first, I was thinking it was just for the views and fun of it. And I’m not a firm believer. I don’t know, if you would agree with me or maybe just coincidences what’s happening right now in Philippine sports.

Let’s take for start, last January, Pinoy Curling athletes won the country’s first ever Asian Winter Games by beating host China, 6-4. Then in February, the Pinay booters gained qualification in Asian Cup Championship topping our side of the elimination.

Tennister Alexandra Eala, shocked the WTA scene beating three former Grandslam champions to reach the semi finals of the Miami Open. A feat never been done by a Filipina player until last April.

Recently in Pampanga, Gilas Pilipinas Youth team topped South East Asian Basketball (SEABA) under-16 tournament via six-game sweep. And earned a slot to the FIBA Asia Cup Under-16 Championship.

Following up, Gilas boys triumph, a bunch of lady Ice Hockey squad match their illustrious counterparts, by winning the International Ice Hockey Championship, beating Iran,4-2..

With these series of triumphs in different sporting fronts and were still halfway through 2025, I’m beginning to think now, that there’s more to come for Philippine sports?… I’ll leave it all up to you.
