Celebrities on the Diamond..LBP SEASON 2 OPENING NIGHT TO DELIVER STAR- STUDDED SPECTACLE

THE Liga Baseball Philippines will open it's second season in a spectacular fashion where prominent celebrities in the country will grace a star- studded ceremony at the Felino Marcelino Baseball Stadium slated on May 23, 2026 in Taguig City.

After it's huge success in last year's maiden edition,the leagues' leadership is presenting a different kind of baseball spectacle from the opening rites,first pitch going to the championship where top club, collegiate and commercial teams will show their wares to capture the prestigious title of the league patterned in the legendary Manila Bay Baseball League ( MBBL) of the 60’s.

Billed as 2026 LMP ' Celebrity Cup' , the league will formally open for the first time at night time with brightlights ang spotlight centered at Diamonds' real stars, celebrity guests ,afficionados and enthusiasts adding excitement to the much anticipated ceremony to be held at the state- of- the- art Taguig venue in lieu of the historic Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium in Malate, Manila where refurbishing and renovation is in progress.

" It will be a grand night of celebrities in the opening ceremony where rich and famous from sports, showbiz, business personalities and public servants as well who are enthusiastic in supporting the real stars of the tournament, the baseball players themselves," LBP Chairman Wopsy Zamora said." So it's all roads to Taguig's Marcelino Diamond to witness the grand night opening and the night games ahead."

The LBP Season 2 ' Celebrity Cup' was organized in a joint efforts led by Chairman Wopsy Zamora, President Jose Pepe Muñoz, Director General Ping Remollo, Commissioner Mike Zialcita and notable directors Ricky Palou,Anthony Suntay, Raymond Tolentino,Nats Faustino, Revo Saguisag among others.

LBP players who are stars in their own rights and mother teams will be packing their bags to head off for the next edition of Liga Baseball Philippines returning into action, high stakes best- on - best competitions will captivate the baseball community once again," LBP president Munoz added.

The reigning 3- peat UAAP champion NU Bulldogs will go for another milestone in LBP along with arch rival DLSU Green Batters, Katayama Baseball Academy ( KBA)of Japanese national Philippine based team owner Keiji Katayama, Muralla Dawgs, Taguig IX; Ateneo, UST and Philippine Air Force will vie for their first ever LBP crown this coming season.
