CHENGDU, China — Krizan Faith Collado and Carlos Baylon Jr. were relegated to the bronze medal match after yielding to their respective foes in the wushu sanda event of the 2025 World Games here at Hi-Tech Zone Sports Centre Gymnasium Monday evening.

Collado became the first casualty after losing by rounds, 0-2, against India's Namrata Batra in the women's 52-kilogram division. She will face Thi Phuong Nga Ngo of Vietnam at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a chance to win the bronze at the same venue.

Ngo, meanwhile, bowed to China's Mengyue Chen, 0-2, in their semis battle.

"I need more international exposure to better prepare myself," admitted Collado. "This is just my second foreign competition. I will surely learn from this experience."

Baylon, on the other hand, was simply outclassed in the 56kg class by hometown bet Sishuo Tang, losing by point difference with the fight stopped with 41 seconds still left in the first round.

He will meet Islam Karimov of Kazakhstan in the battle for third at 7:30 p.m.

In billiards, Chezka Centeno remained as the lone bet in the 10-ball event after her compatriots Rubilen Amit and Jeff de Luna fell like dominoes at the Civil Aviation Flight University of China - Tianfu Campus Gymnasium.

Amit lost to China's Shasha Liu, 4-7, while de Luna wasted a big lead to absorb an 8-9 defeat to Hungary's Oliver Szolnoki.

Centeno awaits her quarterfinal opponent with the match set Tuesday. DANNY SIMON
