Hot stricken Rain or Shine continued to paint the town red as the Elasto Painters caged the Batang Pier inside the big container in their shipyard in North Port, 115-105, Philippine Cup sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

PBA fans were aghast to the amazing hardcourt performance of the Elasto Painters racking up five straight wins after losing their first four games, including loss to Meralco.

Coach Yeng Guiao had trust and confidence his bunch of gritty players can do it and they did it in style to the surprised and amazement of the motley crowd at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

“Awesome,” said by coach Yeng Guiao “They are determined to keep the winning streak and they did it in convincing fashion,”

“Consistent ang laro namin. Lahat nag step up. Hopefully, we sustain our good game and win more games as the tournament progresses,” noted the 61 years old veteran mentor from Pampanga. Guiao, former Congressman, seeks his seventh PBA titles and third for RoS.

RoS dominated the game right from the opening whistle and never allowed North Port to get closer en route to its fifth consecutive win. The Elasto Painters beat Batang Pier in almost all departments, collected 56 rebounds and 28 assists.

Beau Belga topscored with 28 points and the Bicolano big man from Sorsogon was adjudged best player of the game.

RoS lead, 108-94, two minutes left in the game, then sustained the fiery attack to clinch the easy win and fortify its quarterfinals campaign.

Jhonard Clarito contributed 17, Adrian Clarence Nocum 16 and Mark Anthony Borboran 12.

Coach Bonnie Tan kept shuffling his players but couldn’t find the right formula to stop the rampaging Elasto Painters, who toyed with them with points from all corners.
