THE true greatness of a person comes from within and around a circle of peers, which showed admiration and respect to someone who’s truly great.

And nothing more than truly great is Alexandra Eala, who has heart a of gold that exemplified not only a champion on court, but champion in life as well.

Why the 19-year old and the World women’s ATP ranked No.69 is great?, Simple, the small gesture, but with great impact to people who really puts family on top over greatness.

Eala, whose giant-killing during a stint a in the Miami Open, where she disposed three former grandslam champs and earned her slot in the main draw of the French Open at Roland Garros.

But Filipino tennis fans in the country and other expats all over the world were shocked followed her unexpected announcement not play or see action in the said prestigious tournament, which is a dream of every tennisters.

What’s follows next after her withdrawal, were nothing but outpouring display of love, sympathy and respect coming from the legends of the sport.

The dusky Eala, who is also voted social media as one of the pretties tennis play in the world, opted to attend to her sick and ailing grandmother back home, thus forgoing her chance to play and meet Colombian Emiliana Aragono, who is said to be ranked No 20.

In press conference, she could play a tournament, knowing she might miss her last chance to thank her ailing grandmother and spend tine with her family.

Also in the said press conference, Eala promised to be back in tennis sometime in July time in preparation to see action in Wimbledon when things are settled.

This gesture, wherein Eala drew respect and sympathy no less from mentor and 19 time grandslam champion Rafael Nadal, who wrote her a letter showing love and respect and that he had nothing for her, but respect and that she made a good decision.

Eala is currently training under Nadal’s tennis academy in Mallorca, Spain.
