Filipinas miraculously reach quarterfinals

The Philippines unexpectedly qualifies in to the quarterfinals of the the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 quarter-finals.

This happened when Japan won over Vietnam, 4-0, on Tuesday in the Group C action at Perth Rectangular Stadium.

The Filipinas overtook Vietnam with a better tiebreak for best third-placed teams, and joined Uzbekistan.

Having a -2 goal difference with the Philippines and Uzbekistan are in the quarterfinals with South Korea, Australia, China, North Korea, Japan and Chinese-Taipei.

Vietnam finished with a -4 goal difference.

The participation of the Filipinas is supported by the Philippine Football Federation and Philippine Sports Commission.

The Philippines will clash with Japan in the quarterfinals on March 15 in Sydney.
