GM Torre, Bugayong, Reyes bigay ningning sa Engr's rapid chess opening

SUSULONG na ang 3rd D' Engineer's Cup rapid chess tournament ngayong araw kung saan sina Asia's First Grandmaster Eugene Torre , Shimmer & Shield Car Coating President/CEO Jeff Bugayong at dating PSME National President Engr. Roger Reyes ang mangunguna sa pagsasagawa ng opening ceremonies.

Inaasahang maghahatid sina Torre , Bugayong at Reyes ng kanilang inspirational messages sa mga kalahok ng one-day rapid event (armageddon format 10 minutes white at 9 minutes black time control format), na suportado ng Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE), ay nag-aalok ng P7,000 plus painting mula sa Life 'N Arts sa kampeon at P3,000 sa runner up. Ito ay bahagi ng Philippine Technological Council-World Engineering Day (PTC-WED) at pagdiriwang ng National Engineering Month.

“This is the second time that the Koten Enterprises Inc. Corporate office in F.B. Harrison Street, Pasay City join hands to hold this big sports event,” sabi ni tournament director IIEE National Past President Engr. Allan Anthony Alvarez.

Ang iba pang invited guest ay sina CIDG Director Nicolas Torre III, Santo Tomas, Pangasinan Mayor Dickerson Dauz Villar, National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Board of Director Judge Gonzalo Mapili, Former Philippine Ambassador to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Maldives Leo Tito Ausan Jr. at board of Electrical Engineering chairman Francis Mapile.

Tampok sina Australia bound 12-time Philippine Open Champion Grandmaster Rogelio "Joey" Antonio Jr., 2-time Asian Senior Champion International Master Jose Efren Bagamasbad at National Master Almario Marlon Bernardino Jr. ang mangunguna sa mga paboritong kalahok.

Ang triumvirate (Antonio, Bagamasbad at Bernardino) ay nakatakdang lumahok sa Australian chess circuit sa susunod na buwan.

Sina Antonio, Bagamasbad at Bernardino) ay kakatawan sa bansa para lumahok sa 2025 Melbourne International Open mula April 7-14, 2025 sa Melbourne, ang 2025 Doeberl Cup mula April 17-21, 2025 sa Canberra at ang Sydney International Open Chess Championships mula April 23 - 27, 2025 sa Sydney.

Ang iba pang Filipino na kalahok sa competition (3rd D' Engineer's Cup rapid chess tournament) ay sina IM Chito Garma, IM Angelo Young, FM Narquingden Reyes, FM Noel Dela Cruz, NM Gerald Ferriol, NM Romeo Alcodia, Sherwin Tiu, Narquingel Reyes, Jeremy Marticio, Dr. Fred Paez, Reymond Ompod at Atty. Rodolfo Enrique "Rudy" Rivera.

Upang makumpleto ang 16 qualifiers, uusad ang nangungunang manlalaro ng kampeon at runner up sa team event.

Mayroong 12 koponan na may tig-5 manlalaro mula sa Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers, Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers, Institute of electronic engineers, Philippine Society of Mining Engineers at mga koponan mula sa Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) na kumakatawan sa Singapore, Metro Central, Metro South, Metro East, Southern Laguna at Quezon.
