JAPAN International Council for Traditional Sports and Games official Baba Yuko recently expressed her support in establishing an organization of a traditional sport in the Philippines that is nationwide in scope similar to J-ICTSG.

Yuko, who is also one of the high echelon in the ICTSG -UNESCO visited the Philippines during the celebration of the annual "SIKARAN Festival sa Tanay Hane 2023" in Tanay, Rizal last November 12 along with J-ICTSG press secretary Tetsuya Tsuda.

Their Philippine tour was made possible through the invitation of Global Sikaran Federation founder/president Grandmaster Hari Osias Catolos Banaag (based in Delano, California , USA) and hosted by Master Crisanto Cuevas of Raven Sikaran Martial Arts of Tanay and California supported by Rizal and Tanay local government units in cooperation of Master Manuel Banaag of GSF Philippines and German Patino of Wildcat Sikaran Martial Arts Pasig.

“It’s a golden opportunity that we’ve joined and celebrated the Sikaran traditional sport in the Philippines. We wish that on our next visit, the Philippine International Council for Traditional Sports and Games (P-ICTSG) was already established nationwide”, Yuko said who also heads the Research and Publication of the ICTSG in the United Nations.

Yuko and Tsuda are currently in Tanzania tour for ethnic traditional sports development in Africa.
