JAPAN ICTSG TOP BRASS YUKO AND TSUDA, GM BANAAG AND MASTER CUEVAS

FYI: Ang SIKARAN ay isang simple pero intensibong larong martial art na nagmula sa bayan ng Baras sa lalawigan ng Rizal.

Ayon sa mga ninuno sa naturang bayan, ito'y nilalaro na bago pa man dumating ang mga Kastila noong ika-16 na siglo.

Sa paglipas ng panahon ay lumawig ang larangan hanggang sa kasalukuyan ay naging pamoso na rin ito sa internasyunal dahil sa pagsisikap ni Global Sikaran Federation founder/president Filipino - US - based Hari Osias Catolos Banaag katuwang sina Master Emmanuel Banaag, Master Crisanto Cuevas ng Raven Sikaran Martial Art na pinangagasiwaan ni Master Manuel Banaag, Master Patino ng Pasig Sikaran at iba pang grupo ng Sikaran partikular sa Tanay at karatig-bayan.

Ang pagsisikap nila na palawigin ang tradisyunal na SIKARAN sport sa Pilipinas ay napansin ng TSG UNESCO at ICTGS (International Council for Traditional Sports and Games kung kaya nagpadala sila ng kinatawan sa bansa upang personal na makilatis ang development ng naturang martial art sa bansa.

Japanese traditional sports executives Yuko Baba and Tetsuya Tsuda arrived in the Philippines Friday night to personally witness and join the celebration of the traditional 'Sikaran Festival sa Tanay Hane 2023' yesterday (Sunday, November 12) in Tanay, Rizal.

Through the invitation of US- based Filipino martial arts GM Banaag, president and founder - Global Sikaran Federation, Japan International Council of Traditional Sports and Games vice president Yuko and well known Japanese journalist/ movie and animation director Tsuda guestedbthe historic event where the traditional sports and games festivities presenting Sikaran competitions of upcoming and veteran martial artists will show their wares to Tanayeños, local and international tourists as well today at the Tanay Municipal basketball court in Bgy. Kat-Bayani.

"I'm so happy to join and celebrate Philippine traditional martial arts festival and thank you so much for the invitation," Yuko said who also heads the Research and Publication Commission of the ICTSG.

Yuko acknowledged the support of their former TSG- UNESCO colleague GM Banaag and the effort of Master Crisanto Cuevas of Raven Sikaran Martial Arts based in Tanay for his warm hospitality from upon their arrival in Manila going to Tanay - the venue of the 2nd Sikaran Festival sa Tanay Hane 2023.

Aside from witnessing the event highlight of Sikaran competitions of young and adult, international martial arts performers, The Japanese visitors who were also welcomed by the Rizal local government units headed by Governor Nini Ynares and Tanay Mayor Rafael Tanjuatco were treated to special side events such as Meriendang Pinoy, Art exhibit, Mga Larong Salin Lahi, Saligang Lahi, Saligang Haligi ng Katutubong Lipi and a car show to cap the wholeday fertivities organized by Global Sikaran Federation, Raven Sikaran Martial Arts,Tanay Hane Festival '23 with full support from Pamahalaang Lalawigan ng Rizal, Pamahalaang Bayan ng Tanay, Traditional Sports, TSG and Tanay Sikaran Martial Arts.
