JUST DO IT COACH TIM!

It seems to me, Gilas Pilipinas mentor Tim Cone is beginning to doubt himself and his God-given talent, as a “miracle worker” which he had proved it and shown, since taking over the ruins.

How he done it?…Cone, time and again, proved it a number of times. he first waved his magic wand when he was given a temporary job in assembling a national team to the 2023 Honzhou, China Asian Games just barely two weeks after the country hosted the FIBA World Cup.

Players’ availability was the main concerned then, Cone sought the help of Ginebra team manager Al Francis Chua, who made the call on some PBA players, who’s willing to play. And like a cinderella story, Gilas Pilipinas emerged champion, ending the country’s 61-year Gold medal drought.

Cone’s magic didn’t stop there, months later, leading a more revitalized and younger bunch of so-called generational Gilas players. The nationals shocked the Europeans as they stunned World No. 6 Latvia, 89-84, during the 2024 Olympics Qualifying Tournament and eliminating World No. 24 Georgia, on quotient.

Few months later, Cone extended Gilas’s magical run, as the nationals routed Chinese-Taipei, Hong Kong and posted another historic win against Asia-Oceana powerhouse New Zealand, 94-89 and earned a ticket to the FIBA Asia Cup proper slated in August.

So with those achievement, what the heck are you talking about?.. that you’re not incline to coach a new bunch ot player, because of a very limited time to teach them the triangle. Unless you bring in the entire roster to the Southeast Asian Games this December.

You beginning to sound like a cry-baby Tim?, Those tough challenges, it seems merely impossible to do it, but you done it? Previously, you mentioned for as along as we believed in ourselves we can beat anyone as proven.

Here’s another brilliancy you just did, I remember weeks before the country’s hosting of the SEA Games in 2019, There have been Gilas team have been formed, combination of young collegiate standouts and some veteran PBA players. And right after your appointment as head coach you disbanded it.

Instead you opted to assemble an all PBA squad, to insure to win the gold medal and you did, with less time for preparation and training. That I considered as Tim Cone’s magic.
