TEN houses burned down and 13 families were displaced by a devastating fire that broke out Tuesday November 1 in Barangay 1, Kabankalan City

The fire, which started at approximately 3:10 yesterday, quickly spread through the residential area of Barangays 1 that left 10 homes totally damaged and three partially damaged.

A total of 58 individuals were affected by the fire.

Authorities evacuated the affected families to the covered court of Barangay 1.

It took more than an hour before it was declared under control by the Bureau of Fire Protection.

The devastation erupted in Barangays 1 in Kabankalan City forcing numerous families from their homes to temporary shelter into evacuation centers. The entire community joined hands in an outpouring of support and assistance for those affected by the tragic incident.

The Kabankalan City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), in collaboration with other relevant agencies and local organizations immediately responded to the incident and extended assistance.

The city government through Mayor Benjie Miranda, Vice Mayor Miguel Zayco and the City Council expressed concern over the tragedy.

Mayor Benjie Miranda extended P25,000 in financial assistance while former Mayor Isidro Zayco gave P13,000, Vice Mayor Migz Zayco, SPM Jerzy Guanzon and SPM Rey Cordero donated Food and Water Supplies and Ann Marie Zayco donated 100 Jollibee food packs.
