Magnolia shoots for it's third straight win against fast skidding Blackwater and North Port guns for its fifth win in eight matches against Rain or Shine Wednesday in the Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadum.

The Hotshots square off with the Bossing in the main game at 7:30 pm after the 4:30 pm encounter between the Batang Pier and the Elasto Painters in another pair of exciting matches.

Magnolia is highly favored against Blackwater because of superior lineup man for man and have championship experience unlike the Bossing always eliminated the elimination.

The Hotshots enter the court in high spirits following their back-to-back wins against North Port and Phoenix.

Magnolia will go out for a win to boast their morale in their next game against Rain or Shine April 20 at Tiaong Convention Center in Quezon near former San Miguel coach now team consultant Leo Austria, who hails from Sariaya town adjacent to capital city Lucena.

“We have to win this game to bolster our morale in our next game against RoS,” said coach Chito Victolero seeking his second PBA crown since steering Magnolia to the 2018 Governor’s Cup title.

Magnolia is in fourth at 3-2 behind undefeated league-leading San Miguel Beer 5-0, NLEX 5-2, and Barangay Ginebra 5-3.

Despite being picked by cage experts and matchmakers to win, coach Victolero didn’t make chances. He reminded their players not to be complacent to ensure victory and avoid getting upset.

Victolero relies on his gunners led by Andy Mark Barroca, Paul Lee, Jio Jalalon, Ian Sangalang, Rome de la Rosa, Calvin Abueva at James Laput against Blackwater led by Troy Rosario, Regie Kent Ilagan, Bradwyn Guinto, Frederick Tungcab and former RoS Rey Nambatac.

Blackwater lost its last game to RoS, 103-110. The Bossing will go out for a win to return to the winner’s circle” and raise their standings.

The game between North Port and RoS is almost even and the win of the two opposing teams depends on the performance of the players.

One big factor the game between North Port and RoS is the personal duel of Arvin Tolentino of North Port and RoS top gunner Leonard Santillan.
