MATAPOS ang matagumpay na pagdaraos ng Palarong Pambansa sa Cebu City, eeksena naman ang mga atleta sa senior at secondary divisions ng mahigit 400 colleges and universities sa buong bansa para magtagisan ng husay at galing sa 22 sports kasama ang medal rich athletics at swimming sa Private Schools Athletics Association National Athletics (PRISAA)na aarangkada sa Linggo, July 21sa Bicol University Sports Complex sa Legazpi City, Albay.

Legazpi City, Albay-MATAPOS ang matagumpay na pagdaraos ng Palarong Pambansa sa Cebu City, eeksena naman ang mga atleta sa senior at secondary divisions ng mahigit 400 colleges and universities sa buong bansa para magtagisan ng husay at galing sa 22 sports kasama ang medal rich athletics at swimming sa Private Schools Athletics Association National Athletics (PRISAA)na aarangkada sa Linggo, July 21sa Bicol University Sports Complex sa Legazpi City, Albay.

Ito ang pangalawang beses gagawin ang weeklong competition sa Bicol Region una sa Naga City, Camarines Sur noong 2009 at pangalawa sa Legazpi City home of the worlds’s famous perfect cone Mayon Volcano na sinuportahan ng Philippine Sports Commission at Local Government Unit.

Magiging panauhin pandangal si PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann at si Commissioner Edward Hayco kasama ang mga top PRISAA officials sa pangunguna nina national president at dating PSC Commissioner Fr. Vic Uy, PRISAA Bicol president Edgar Balasta at Mayor Geraldine Rosal sa opening ceremony.

“The PRISAA national games reaffirm our commitment to grassroots sports and holistic youth development,” sabi ni Uy.

Kamakailan ay nagpunta si Hayco sa Legazpi City para sa Memorandum of Agreement sa pagitan ng PSC at PRISAA para sa pagdaraos ng competition kasama ang pagsulong ng mga programa tulad ng certification of courses sa coaches, talent identification, at adopt an athlete initiative.

Sinabi ni Mayor Rosal nakahanda ang kanyang administration ibigay ang lahat na suporta masiguro ang tagumpay ng PRISAA.

“Legazpi is committed to extend the necessary assistance to ensure the success of PRISAA and give officials and athletes from other regions something to remember in their brief stay in Legazpi City,” sabi ni Mayor Rosal.

“The competition is expected to carry the same aura of excitement like in previous competitions,” pagsisiguro ni PRISAA National Executive Director Professor Elbert “Bong” Atilano.

“PRISAA is a breeding ground and producer of national athletes. Most of the national athletes, including 2016 Brazil Olympics silver medalist and 2020 Tokyo gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz are products of PRISAA. I’m sure new heroes and heroines will surface,” wika ni Atilano.

Sinabi ni Atilano, dating vice president ng Weightlifting Association of the Philippines, ang layunin ng PRISAA is to hold the competition in various parts of the country at give member schools the chance and opportunity to host the annual tournament,” ani pa Atilano

Huling nilaro ang taunang competition sa Zamboanga sa Joaquin Enriquez Sports Complex.

Ang PRISAA ay counterpart ng Palarong Pambansa sabay na inorganisa noong 1950. Nilaro ang nasabing school competition sa iba’t-ibang lalawigan at lungsod at idinaos na sa Camarines Sur, Davao, Zambales, Bohol, Pangasinan, Rizal, at Zamboanga, Surigao del Sur.

Ang mga sports ay archery, athletics, badminton, basketball (5 on 5) basketball (3 on 3), volleyball, boxing, beach volleyball, billiards. dancesport, football, gymnastics, indoor volleyball, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, volleyball and weightlifting.
