Abril 16 2026 ay pormal na sumanib ang Pilipinas sa PAX SILICA isang US- led coaltion designed to secure global supply chain for semiconductors, artificial intelligence and critical minerals.
Ang location ng higanteng proyektong ito ay sa New Clark City, Capas , Tarlac. Ang target na initial deployment phases ay bago matapos ang taong 2028. May bago ng presidente by that time.
Sabi ng mga sumusuporta at nagsusulong nito ay " it will attract major tech investments, creates up to 300,000 jobs and move the country to higher up the globel technology value chain.
Pero sa mga tumututol may dapat munang sagutin ang mga nagsusulong nito tulad ng POWER GRID STRAIN or drive up of electricity cost dahil sa high energy demand ng project. May mga environmental at social issues din regarding water usage, potential aggressive land use conversion at displacement ng local communities. May mga geo political concerns din dahil sa US ang pangunahing bansa na nagsusulong nito ay maaring may maselan na impact sa relasyon ng bansa sa China.
At sa gitna nito ay magiging raw material supplier lang tayo at walang sariling teknolohiya.
