Ito ang sinabi ni Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino sa PSA Forum bago umalis sa July 22 punta Paris Olympics na lalarga sa July 26 hanggang August 11.

Ganito rin ang sinabi ni Tolentino sa panayam ng reporter na ito kasama si secretary general Wharton Chan lumagda siya ng Memorandum of Agreement sa Singapore-based ice cream company na sponsor sa 22 athletes delegation sa Paris Summer Games.

“I am a positive thinker in all aspects in sports. Malaki ang tiwala at sampalataya ko sa ating mga atleta na they can do it no matter how tough the opposition. Pinoys are known for their courage, resiliency and big fighting heart that never runaway from fight,” sabi ni Tolentino.

“Gusto ko manalo uli ang atin mga atleta sa Paris ,maging back-to-back under my term as POC president. I want to surpass the medals we got in Tokyo,” wika ni Tolentino.

Isang mahalagang dahilan ang nais ni Tolentino na magtagumpay ang mga atleta natin Paris maging makasaysayan at makabuluhan ang 100 years na paglahok ng Pinas sa Olympics mula 1924.

“This is the main reason I want our athletes succeed in Paris precisely to make it historic, meaningful, memorable and worth remembering to Filipinos from all walks of life” pahayag ni Tolentino na siya rin ang presidente ng Philippine Cycling Federation.

Ang isang ginto, dalawang pilak at isang tanso sa Tokyo ang pinakamagandang showing ng Pinas sa Olympics.

Nanalo si Hidilyn Diaz ng ginto sa weightlifting, pilak sina Carlo Paalam at Nesthy Petecio at tanso ni Felix Eumir Marcial sa boxing sa Tokyo.

Ang ginto napanalunan ni Diaz tuluyan winakasan ang 97 years tagtuyo sa Olympics. Nanalo rin si Diaz ng pilak sa 2016 edition sa Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Nabigo si Diaz makapasa sa huling qualifying World Cup ginawa sa Pattaya, Thailand nakakuha ng trip ticket sina Tokyo Olympian Erleen Ann Ando, Vanessa Sarno at John Fabuar Ceniza.

Inamin ni Tolentino dadaan sa butas ng karayom ang mga Pinoy dahil lahat na malalakas at magagling sa mundo kalahok tulad nila pangarap at gusto manalo ng ginto.

“I candidly admit our athletes’ dream win the precious gold is like scaling the mountain traversing long and winding stretches on the way to the top,” pag-aamin ni Tolentino.

“Olympics is not just an ordinary sports competition It is the sport of all sports and an apex of sports where the best and brightest athletes in the universe compete,” sabi ni Tolentino.

Ang mga Olympic bounds athletes ay sina Ernest John Obiena, Carlos Yulo, Felix Eumir Marcial, Aleah Finnegan, Nesthy Petecio, Aira Villegas, Erleen Ando, John Fabuar Ceniza, Levi Ruivivar, Joanie Delgaco, Samantha Catantan, Levi Ruivivar, Emma Malabuyo, at Filipino-Canadian Kayla Sanchez.
