PRA Chair Remulla all praises for rower Delgaco's qualification for Paris Olympics

Team Philippine Chief of Mission and Team Philippine Chief of Mission and Philippine Rowing Association honorary chairman Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla is happy and elated because their Olympic aspirant rower Joanie Delgaco successfully booked a trip ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“I’m indeed happy our rower made it to Paris. She worked hard and made lots of sacrifices in her ambition to compete in Paris. She deserves the trip,” a beaming Remulla said.
“While I cheer for our athletes, I also cheer for Joanie to boost her morale and fighting spirit go for the gold. Hopefully, she makes it in her first Olympic appearance,” noted Remulla is happy and elated because their Olympic aspirant rower Joanie Delgaco successfully booked a trip ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Remulla is the second non president of the National Sports Association appointed CDM to Team Philippines. First was First Gentleman Mike Arroyo in the 2015 Southeast Asian Games.
Delgaco, 26, placed fourth with a time of 7:49.39 in single scull in the just-ended World Rowing Asia and Oceania Continental qualification regatta where 66 rowers from 20 took part held in Chungju, South Korea.
Anna Prakaten of Uzbekistan won the event in 7:31.28, followed by Japan’s Shijo Yonekawa 7:35.90, and Iran’s Fatemeh Mohallal 7:37.07.
Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino named Remulla delegation head to the Paris Summer Games where the country celebrates is 100 years participation in the Olympic Games since 1924 in Paris, eleven years the birth of POC formerly known National Olympic Committee. Delgaco is the 11th athlete earned a trip ticket and first female and the fourth rower to compete in the Olympics. Cris Nievarez competed in Tokyo where Hidilyn Diaz won the gold in weightlifting, Nesthy Petecio and Carlo Paalam got silver and Felix Eumir Marcial bronze in boxing.
Delgaco is a veteran of many tournaments and competed in the Southeast Asian Games. Edgardo Maerina competed in 1988 in Seoul where bowler Arianne Cerdena won the gold and Leopoldo Serrantes got bronze in boxing. Benjamin Tolentino Jr took part in 2000 in Sydney, Australia, and Cris Nievarez 2020 in Tokyo.
Delgaco joined early qualifiers Ernest John Obiena, Carlos Yulo, Felix Eumir Marcial, Nesthy Petecio, Aira Villegas, Aleah Finnegan, Erleen Ann Ando, Rosegie Ramos, John Fabuar Ceniza, at Levi Jung Ruivivar.
