The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is hosting the second part of its sports science educational program for national coaches and athletes, both regular and parasports on August 19 and 20 at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Earlier this year, similar sessions were held on sports nutrition while the focus for next week’s session is on Sports Psychology with “Mind and Body in Sync” as the theme.

This is part of the high-performance program being developed by the PSC for elite athletes as PSC Chairman Patrick Gregorio has emphasized the athletes’ welfare as a key focus area for the PSC.

There will also be a smaller session on August 18 that will be on bridging the perceived gap between the young athletes of today and their coaches. This will be an interactive workshop.

The Office of PSC Commissioner Matthew “Fritz” Gaston initiated the program and has gotten support from MILO Philippines, Pocari Sweat, Summit Natural Drinking Water, mWell, BeVera Skin Health Center, and Carmen’s Best.

Speaker for the sessions will come from the Medical and Scientific Athletes Services (MSAS) Unit of the PSC.
