Two key players recovered from health issues and couple of Asian Games heroes ready to ablaze winning tradition with their PBA mother team, Ginebra San Miguel come 48th Season of the Philippine Basketball Association.

With their famous "never-say-die" spirit and famous "Sixth Man"still unmatched by other teams.

Barangay Ginebra team which shifts to full blast in training as the Gin Kings gear up for their title-retention mission in the PBA Commissioner's Cup that will kickoff Nov. 5 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"We are excited about getting back Jamie (Malonzo) in the roster and also we're excited about (Gilas Pilipinas aces) Scottie (Thompson) and Japeth (Aguilar) who have not practiced with the team yet. Basically we're just going to get things together but the good news is we're not playing until Nov. 17. I think that's enough time for us to get ready and go," said Ginebra coach Tim Cone in an interview.

At this juncture, the status of Justin Brownlee with FIBA yet to hand down a verdict on his doping issue.

The right move is, Ginebra has decided to suit up former rival Meralco team import Tony Bishop, an explosive import Brownlee and the Kings engaged in a six-game title series back in the 2021 Governors Cup.

"We know Tony( Bishop) pretty much 'coz we had a six-game battle with him and we have a vision for him on how he's going to come in and fit so we're excited," Cone said of Bishop, tallying averages of 25.7 points on 45.1- percent shooting, 13.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.7 steals in his first PBA tour of duty.

Even with absence of Jeremiah Gray, the Kings' local core group is intact spiced up by the addition of free-agent recruit Maverick Ahanmisi.

A cancer - free LA Tenorio, he is expected to be back in active duty by December.

Then here's Malonzo who is raring to roar back to the court and do his ware after missing the Gilas Pilipinas' golden run in the Hangzhou Asiad.

With this composition, the Kings remain a formidable team to beat while the Gi-neb-ra chant by the crowd is ready to bring the house down.
