SEN. Christopher 'Bong' Go pushed for the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 188, which he filed to establish the Department of Disaster Resilience (DDR).

The bill aims to create a new Cabinet-level department that would focus on holistic approaches to enhance disaster preparedness.

Go, who also heads the senate health committee

said the DDR shall concentrate on three significant areas such as disaster risk reduction, disaster preparedness and response and recovery, and building forward better.

Knowing the urgent need for accessible health services, especially during challenging times, the senator encouraged the public to utilize the Malasakit Center located at the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) in the city if they need medical assistance.

This center, alongside 158 more nationwide, was institutionalized under RA 11463 or the "Malasakit Centers Act of 2019," a legislation that he principally sponsored and authored.

Malasakit Centers are one-stop shops that offer medical assistance to those in need, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DoH), Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The Davaoeño solon supports the construction of more Super Health Centers nationwide.
