UAAP BASEBALL BEST-OF-THREE FINALS: NU BULLDOGS WIN GAME ONE VS DLSU

NATIONAL University Bulldogs inched closer in accomplishing it's mission of dominating the finals and finally capture the crown after posting a come from behìnd victory, 8-4 in game one of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 86 Thursday night at the UP Baseball Field in Diliman, Quezon City.

The Bulldogs rallied to top the Green Archers to post a convincing victory and get the momentum in the series.

Gio Gorpido collected 3 hits in 3 at bats for the win.He singled in the third inning and singled at 5th frame.

A double in the 8th inning proved to be the biggest blow for the Archers.

"Championship caliber talaga ang La Salle.So hindi dapat magpakampante .We still have to finish strong on game 2,"said winning coach Romar Landicho who acknowledged the support of his deputies Robin Go, Junemar Diarao ang Mon Espino.

Sunday's game 2 will be crucial for both teams wherein a victory for the Bulldogs will write their destiny of winning the championship after 12 year - drought while a win for Green Batters will extend their dynasty- seeking of three-peat.

" We're almost there.We will not give them even an inch of chance to mount a comeback," said Wopsy who praised his wards Amiel de Guzman, Nigel Paule, Herald Tenorio, Jherrick Timban, Kent Altarejos, Kiel Olazo, Cyrill Antipolo, Joven and Jude Maulit and Camposanto, in their determination to win the prestigious UAAP title.
